Guinea pigs can be picky, no doubt about it! Here are some favorite foods of theirs to try.
Note: if a guinea pig doesn’t like something, you can always put the food in their hidey for a few hours and see if they get curious enough to take a nibble.
If your guinea pig is not eating vegetables at all and came from a pet store or a traumatic home, please check out how to get your guinea pigs to eat vegetables.
If your guinea pig was previously eating vegetables and has suddenly refused food, please go to the vet ASAP.
This list is in addition to unlimited hay, their ultimate favorite.
Green leaf lettuce
Red leaf lettuce
Bell peppers (all colors)
Parsley (Italian & Curly)
Tomatoes or cherry tomatoes (do not feed stems)
Treats (feed in very small portions or only 2-3 times a week. These are like their dessert and are very sugary.
